I stayed at home today for I'm still sick. Taking the meds that I got but still feel like crap. Tried to finish my towel that I have been working on for 2 wks and just don't have the energy to do it. Will pick it up and do a couple of stitches then lay it down and take a nap.
I know the animals wonder what is wrong for I just run out , throw out feed, and then get back in the house. No time to visit and play. They probably wonder what they did wrong. For I have them out of their normal routine.

Boy! Did we ever have a full weekend.?! I had to have the goats at Verona Friday by 7 p.m. for the weighing. Had one goat that made the weight but had one that didn't. My sister had a goat that lacked 2 lbs and they wouldn't let her show well my niece really. I'm so mad . They have put a weight limit on showing goats for Dixie National. The goats have to weigh in between 60 lbs and 110 lbs. It's getting to where its an adult thing instead of kids in the 4-h. There will be a livestock and district meeting in Feb. and you can beat you sweet butt I'll be there. There is this one guy who is the one who got this bill to pass and we have already had one run in and I'm afraid there is going to be another one.
At one show , he was yelling at my child and I asked him what the problem was and we ended up into it and wellllll, I told him that if he said one more thing to me , he would either be smoking that cigar out of his ass or eating it one, that it didn't matter to me. What it all boils down too, is we always beat him at the shows and he is just trying to elminate us. I'll have him to know that I will be a thorn in his side. That man makes me so angry.!!!!!!!
Saturday was the show and it was cold and raining. I had only one goat to clip and I mean a full body clip too. David ended up with 7th out of his class and I was proud . We are not going to Dixie National this year , we have decided to boycott the goat show. But we will be doing the dairy show. We are leaving Friday and coming back Sunday.
I ended up getting cold and wet and now I'm sick. I am coughing my head off and running fever.
Not that any of that matters here. I just might as well be dead . Noone seems to notice that I'm sick.
I missed the first barrel race of the year , so now I'm really going have to push to get some points made up.
They are saying we are going have some snow this week. Just what I need when I have a goat that is fixing to come in. It will have them when the weather is bad. Then again, I think all animals do that to their owners.

I had to take David to the doctor today. Thank God, my nephew married a doctor, she said that he didn't have the flu but had this bug that everyone else has. Gave some medicine and said if he wasn't any better in a couple of days then bring him back. Boy, it's nice having a doctor in the family. The same goes Trai and Randy but like I said eariler sometimes family takes a back seat when there is something else more important and I can understand.
I thought after I got home I could really get caught up on my housework. Welllll...... that got blowed out the window. I did turn Dass out for awhile. It was funny watching her when she came out of the stall.
Tomorrow is one of my sister's birthday. I am suppose to meet her later on and give her present to her.
I got to thinking about the people in my family. Let's see, I have a niece who is a doctor, 2 cousins who are vets, 2 cousins who is in the military, one cousin who is a teacher, a daughter who is a teacher, a son who is a mech tech, a son who is in the military, a nephew who is a teacher and coach, a niece who is a counsler, a niece who is fixing to be a teacher, a nephew who is a pharmacist, and the rest of us who just work in a factory or stay at home.
I'm proud of my family Everyone is always there for one another.

These were made at the end of the summer. Here is my (fat) hubby in the driver seat. Bless his heart, he would have a stroke if he knew I had this picture up. haha might so him some good to get that excited. The other picture is Tessa , our daughter, (really my step daughter but I hate the word step so I just say daughter or son).

Well , here is my house. This was made in the summer of 2001 right after the tornado that came right through the middle of it. Since this last picture , I have added flower boxes and furniture on the porch.

It isn't like the houses I seen in the mountains but it's mine. It's a cute house even if I have to say so myself.

It's these just beautiful.?!

This was made when Lamar and I went to the Smokey Mountains during the summer. I laughed and told him that was my dream home. I would love to live in house like that. I would want my electricty and running water. I could do without a t.v. but would need my air,ok, just a fan.

These houses were on top of a mountain and while we was going through I could imagine myself living back in the times. From early in the morning , smelling the smoke as it rose from the chimney , to sitting out on the porch in the afternoon and listening to the animals do their calls.

I found this picture. This was taken just about a month before Lamar and I got married. We went to Beale Street in Memphis for Memphis in May weekend. This was taken at B.B.Kings. We love going there and just listening to the music.
Look, I look like Eddie Munster!!! Should have pulled my bangs down. hahaha
It has been 6 days since Dass's injury. She is now able to walk with all her weight on the ankle. We still don't know if she will ever be able to run again. It's so sad. This horse just lives for can chasing. You have to see her run to understand. She will run her heart out for you, and she will give you a ride of the lifetime too. There are times when we come through the gate on just her back legs and when she does that, all I can say is, HANG ON!!!!!!!! It's like she knows what the time is when we come out of the gate. If we had a good run she is prancing, not a good one, she hangs her head low.
I just don't know about the new horse. He is just plum lazy!!! I have to really spur the crap out of him just to keep him in a lope.
I have a colt that came out of my other barrel horse and I hope he has his mother's genes. He is a spunky little one. He will be 1 the first day of March. When he was born he had a question mark on his head. My great neice and great nephew is the ones who named him.,UNO. What a name but it fits him. I told them that was their colt and they are just so excited but now they want to know when am I going to break him for them.HAHA I am to old to be trying to ride the buck out of something. That's why I sold HellBitch. I know , what a name, but you just have to see this mare. When she bucks she gets all 4 off the ground. The last time she threw me , I picked peagravel out of my backside for 2 days. The mare hates me. When I get around her she throws her ears back and rolls her eyes. It's scary.
I sold a great little barrel horse and now I wish I had her back. Her name is FATBABY. I could run barrels , poles, do cow catching or just trail ride on her. I have come out the gate from running barrels and got off her and put my great neice on her. That is how awesome she was. She knew when a kid got on her.
Time for me to go and feed and doctor on Dass. We are getting ready for district goat show this weekend. Hope my goats make the weight limit. They changed the rules this year and now for district and Dixie Nationals the goats have to way between 60lbs and 110lbs. Have you ever heard of such????

I have had an awful week. Tuesday night, we was up several times with the neighbors dogs coming over on our land. One dog was a pit bull, which we have already had one goat killed by this dog, then the other 2 was the other neighbors' dog. Got up Wednesday, and Dass , my barrel horse was lame. Her left back ankle was swelled . Called the vet , he came out and checked her and said that she had a real bad sprained. I would have to soak it 2x a day in epsom water and keep it loosely wrapped for about 2 to 3 day, then I would have to soak it and rub this stuff on it for some more days. I asked about when I could run her again and he told me there could be a chance that she may not ever be able to run again. I would have to wait and see. Dass will need x-rays to see if the ankle is strong enough to run. Well..... let's just say that it's not to pretty here on the hill side. I called the neighbors and told one of them that I told them ,in my living room, that I had to much money invested in my horses for their dogs to be bothering them. Today I got up with the other neighbors and I told them the same thing. I also told them they could be looking at some vet's bill on top of lose wages if I can't run her anymore. Let's just say , nobody is on friendly terms right now.
Let's just say the 'hatfields and mccoys' are going at it again.
I hate to be ugly with people but my livestock doesn't tear up their things or animal so why should I stand by and let other people's animals tear and even kill my livestock.
It just makes me sick about all this. Dass was doing so awesome and now this. I have a rodeo coming up in March also with March Madness coming later on, I was planning on going to it.
I guess it's just another page and chapter here in the life and day to 2LMZ FARMS

This is a picture of my family. We went on a cruise during July. OH MY GOSH, what a trip just to get there. Was late leaving and had an hour drive to get on the boat. When we got there, the boat was fixing to leave and someone had to use the bathroom but didn't make it and wet their pants. Won't say who for she would beat the living daylights out of me. One of my sisters was on crutches for she stepped in a hole with flipflops and broke her ankle. Every year we try to get together and do something , just us grown-ups. Want an adventure go out with us. We will teach you a few things. haha

My family is very close and we love each other to death but..... we fight among each other and if someone outside the family starts something with one family member , they have the whole gang on them. Just a redneck thang, I guess.

For those of us with kids, we also try to go somewhere with them. For 3 years straight we have gone to Kenny Chesseny concerts. Looks like this year we will have to find something else to do.

Make sure if you go to a concert with Audra she keeps her boot on for at one concert she literally beat on woman on top of the head with her boot. haha long story will tell later.

Guess you can say , us rednecks sure know how to have fun.

This is a picture that was taken at the Pontotoc Rodeo. The other rider in the photo is a girl that I rodeo with. She has a stud , who is very beautiful and you would never know that he was a stud.

As you can see I have a full blooded app. You can see that she also doesn't have a tail or a mane.I ran a 15.1 that Saturday night and that put me in 7th place out of the runners from Friday and Saturday night. Was out of luck though for they only payed the top 5. Just my luck!

This is a picture of my daughter, Emily, this was taken at last years District show. Here she won reserved grand champion. Emily was 12 in this picture. Now she is 13 going on 30. Lord, help me. I need the prayers and wisdom to handle this little girl. No, just kidding, she is really a great kid. Just a little bossy and too grown up at times. Love ya, Emily

This picture is a little fuzzy. This is David doing his very first mule pule. My Dad and brother-in-law really gets into this. Now they have David hooked on it. Every year we go to Columbia , TN for Mule Day so my Dad and b-i-l can pull. Can hear them now,"FULL PULL". What alot of fun. Told you us rednecks now how to have fun.heehee

This is one of David , my baby boy, in the shot sleeve blue shirt. It was taken at the goat show. He is showing the goat named "MR.BEAN". David will be 18 in April. Everyone thinks he is only 13 or 14. It makes him mad, he yells to them, "I'm nearly 18". Doesn't matter what age he gets to , he will always be my baby

This is son-in-law Brian. On Sunday afternoons in the summer , we love going to the water and wakeboarding. As you can see, Brian is the one who does all the tricks.

The name of our place is "2lmz farms". How did I come up with that name? Our names are Lamar and Laura Morrison. So, I used our initials. There are 2 L's and the mz , when you read it it , it sounds like m's. I know , sounds kinda of goofy. Anyway........
My husbands has cattle and I have goats, and horses. I just bought my husband a horse for Christmas. A 4 yr old gelding, which has some awesome blood lines. He is a very gently horse. I needed something here for other people to ride, one that was dead broke. Lamar also needed a gentle horse. I sold a great little mare so I needed to replace her.
We are getting ready for District show that is coming up a the end of this month. We have got to have our goats in tip-top shape. A week after that show is when we go to Dixie Nationals. After that show we won't have another show until July.
It's a little of work getting the goats ready. We body clip them for the shows, trim their hooves, and really put the spit and shine on them.

This is a picture of Tessa, my step daughter, in the flower dress, me, Patsy, s-i-l, in green dress, Randa, my neice, in the red dress. This was taken during the summer at my nephews wedding. It's funny having neicies and nephews that are close to my age. One nephew is only 4 years younger than I.

This is when my grandfather passed away. Daddy Jack loved his family and horses. He was an awesome horseman. There are times when I just fall apart because I miss him so much. We was really close. I have his buckeye that he carried in his pocket. Every time I run barrels, I have this buckeye in my pocket. I rub it and ask Daddy Jack to let me have a good and safe run. When i'm going in the gate, I yell, Hang On Daddy Jack. For I know he is riding with me. It sounds weird, but there are times when I can smell him and feel him around me. He was my hero. Know the song,"when I get where I'm going"? There is a verse that says, " I'm going to walk with my granddad and he'll match me step for step", well, my version is ," I'm going to ride with my grandad, and he'll out run me. Gosh, I miss him so much it hurts. I know that one day I will be with him but it's so hard right now not being able to pick up the phone and saying "Daddy Jack,,,,,"

This is 'BILLY JACK JEWEL'. My daughter names the animals after my grandparents. This goat went on and placed very high in several shows. This goat even helped her win in several showmanship classes. He is the type all you have to do is walk him in and he would set up hisself. As you can see I have trouble with keeping flowers and a garden. But you can't stay angery very long. Look, isn't he adorable??!!

this was made in nov. at Paula Deen's book signing. Those who went were, Audra, Abbye, Teisha, Mom, and I. Paula is so down to earth. We gave her a pair of earrings. Ya'll think i have a southern drawl, now she does. Mine just has alittle bit more redneck in it.

Now ain't that just like me, got the darn picture crooked. Oh well, this picutre was made at Thanksgiving in the pasture . I made the picture standing on my back porch. Isn't the leaves just beautiful?.

Today has been gray and rainy. The weather reports that we will have alot of heavy rains today and through out the night. The guy that shoes my horses was suppose to come today but due to the rain he will be out the first of the week. I had to take off work today for I had some business to tend to. Believe I had rather been at work. I just pray that what happened today will be to my favor. One good thing is I got to visit with the Farmgirl Connection and catch up on some things. Gosh, that site can be addictive. I just love it. Talking to women who believe and have the same interest that I do. I do love to go to every one's blog and see what's going on in their lives.
I am so ready for the summer it is pityful. I hate the cold .
Gotta go and find something to fix for supper. Thinking beef stew. yum yum

3 barrels, 2 hearts, 1 passion

Well, I finally got the picture to come up. I believe I had tried for 5 days and look there it is. This is my baby , Dass, she is around 13 and will run her heart out for you. The only decent picture of us and I have my tongue stuck out. heehee.
I do know that I don't do to well when I have to wear a hat. It blocks my vision half of the time.
I don't have any barrel races for awhile so I'm planning on trying to get my aprons made. Go Farmgirls, whoohoo!!!!
Laura
I have been trying for over a week to get this thing going. I have ran into every kind of trouble you can think of. That's pretty normal for me. haha
I went back to work yesterday, what a bummer, but was glad to go back. Have too much to do around here so I needed the break.
I have been trying to upload the picture of me and Dass that was made at June Jam in June 2006. I just love that horse to death. She is an awesome little horse but can also try you at times. It's a joy to ride her for she will give you a ride.
Went to the barrel race here at Pontotoc Monday. Had a real good run . The time I had was 15,794 whoohoo. Seen alot of my friends. Metzi and Michelle, two of my REAL GOOD FRIENDS, came to the race. They had been in Hattisburg at the barrel race there and drove straight to another one. Now, that's what you call , Having the Fever.
Haven't got much time to type will later on.
